Regal Theatre Redevelopment
Stowmarket Town Council
Stowmarket Town Council and Mid Suffolk District Council are working in partnership to invest in the future of the Regal Theatre, aiming to create a modern, attractive, affordable and accessible entertainment venue.
Northmores has been commissioned as Project Manager for the redevelopment of this iconic venue- which forms part of a series of strategic investments by the local authority that will lead to a wide range of social, economic and cultural benefits for the town.
First opened in 1936, the Regal Theatre holds a firm place in the heart of the Stowmarket community. Careful consideration will be made to retain and improve the building’s art deco features, while transforming the external appearance of the theatre and improving access and the quality of the customer experience and that of the staff and performing artists. Plans include three auditoria, a new front of house and a new café area. There will be a new frontage to the theatre and the adjacent Ipswich Street car park will be resurfaced as part of the project.
