Principal Designer

Paulo is a qualified CDM expert with over 20 years of experience, specialising in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations since they were first introduced in 1995. Throughout the various versions of the CDM Regulations (1994, 2007 and 2015), Paulo has fulfilled the role of Planning Supervisor, CDM Co-ordinator and Principal Designer for a wide range of small, medium and large-scale new build and refurbishment projects. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Design and Construction Management from University of Greenwich. His dissertation in 1995 on the delay in implementing the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations was one of the first to address this legislation.

As Principal Designer within the design team, Paulo plans, manages, monitors and coordinates health and safety risk management during the design and planning stage of a project. During the construction phase, he liaises with the Principal Contractor on any on-going design and correlates information for the Health and Safety File.

Paulo is a construction health and safety professional with the skills, knowledge and experience to be on the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR). His memberships include the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Association for Project Safety (APS) and International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
