Northmores managed the selection of the full consultant team for this £1bn+ scheme, supporting the project from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 3. The processes developed for team selection and governance were refined on this project in response to its scale, complexity and extensive stakeholder structure.
Northmores has supported the Trust since 2020 as Technical Advisor on its circa 92,000 sq m New Hospitals Programme, part of the Hospitals of the Future initiative. The scheme includes a new 15-storey children’s and women’s hospital located in Leeds city centre.
We have worked closely with the Trust to establish a Programme Management Office (PMO), procuring and assembling the core team required to deliver the programme. This PMO provides coordination across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment between stakeholders, consultants and delivery objectives.
Northmores led a detailed and robust competitive procurement process to scope, evaluate and appoint the core design team, enabling the programme to progress in support of the Outline Business Case.
Acting in a client-side role, Northmores has coordinated stakeholder engagement across the programme and supported all aspects of development. Our team has also provided healthcare planning input and business case support to inform the wider redevelopment strategy.
This major acute hospital redevelopment is acting as a pathfinder within the New Hospital Programme, helping to shape the NHS approach to digital integration and net zero carbon delivery.
