The project involves extensive enabling works, archaeology and the development of part of the College to serve as temporary dining and catering facilities during the construction project.

The project is centred around the construction of a new double-storey height basement beneath one of the oldest courts in the College, adjacent to the Grade I Listed Hall. This basement will house catering facilities, plant rooms and wine stores. The project has a unique set of complex requirements and so Northmores has undertaken a detailed gap analysis of the design to identify, manage and mitigate risks prior to the construction stage.

Jesus College are fully committed to their sustainability targets and as such the project will be entirely heated and cooled from a large ground-source heat pump array located within the College grounds. This combined with the focus on induction cooking, anaerobic digestion systems and sustainable food sourcing aims to ensure that the Jesus College Kitchen Project becomes the benchmark amongst Oxbridge Colleges.

The team at Northmores offers a tremendous blend of professional and personal; innovation with experience; straight talking, with the ability to listen and collaborate. As a client, clarity and honesty is integral to success, and to date, that is precisely what we have received. The entire project team thrive on the energy and efficiency generated by the Northmores approach.
